BINGO on Camping Serrapilheira

Camp Serrapilheira 

"An event to share Science and to increase its impact on Brazil" 

Graciele Oliveira, who is part of the Education and Scientific Outreach team of the BINGO Project, was selected to participate in the first phase of Camp Serrapilheira. Camp Serrapilheira is a program of Instituto Serrapilheira created to support the Scientific Dissemination. The Camp is carried out through a public call that aims to map the existing initiatives and identify projects to be supported with resources of the institute. Among the 871 inscriptions, 50 proposals were selected for the first phase that will take place between the 4th and 7th of September at the Amanhã Museum, Rio de Janeiro. In addition to participating in workshops, the 50 chosen candidates will present their projects in a closed event. Up to 20 candidates will be selected to receive funding of up to R$ 100,000.

About Instituto Serrapilheira

The institute Serrapilheira was officially launched in 2017 when it opened its first public call for research grant in which initially were selected 70 research projects that receive up to R$ 100 thousand. After a year, 10 to 12 projects will receive up to R $ 1 million for 3 years of research.

According the instituteSerrapilheira is a private nonprofit institution created to promote science and increase its visibility and impact in Brazil. We want to contribute to the construction of a culture of science in the country.

The areas supported by institute Serrapillheira are: chemistry, computer science, earth sciences, engeneering, life sciences, mathematics and physics.
