Nanogeoscience is a new and vibrant interdisciplinary field that studies the phenomena that occurs at nanoscale for geological materials and attempt to understand how  nanostructured and nanoconfined systems drive effects on much larger global scale. In this talk, I will present some applications of nanotechnology on current Oil and Gas industry issues (Enhanced Oil-Recovery, pre-Salt, shale gas, CO2 sequestration and oil spill) based on a multiscale view of fluid-solid interactions ranging from nano to oil reservoir. Interestingly, not only the understanding of  fundamental interactions of brine-oil-rocks interfaces can lead to the emergence of new physical phenomena, but it also offers several collaborative opportunities with the industry.
