The Teaching Improvement Program (PAE) is sponsored by the USP Rectorate and aims to meet a requirement of CAPES, whose regulations establish that doctoral students awarded a scholarship must complete at least one teaching internship during their course. The internship is also optional for all postgraduate students and the Postgraduate Committee strongly encourages the participation of as many students as possible (both master's and doctoral students), since the experience can improve the graduate student's training for activities related to teaching in higher education.
The PAE includes two stages: "Pedagogical Preparation" (a 2-credit course lasting 1 semester) and the "Supervised Teaching Internship" carried out in an undergraduate course offered by IFUSP. Before completing the internship, the student must take the preparatory course.
The current value of the PAE scholarship is R$914.66. Registration periods are announced every six months on the website and via email. Learn how to register by clicking here.
