About the Internship
At the Software Engineer internship program, you will have the opportunity to work in our Brazil Tech Center (located in São Paulo), where we create end-to-end solutions to solve relevant problems, including mobile devices (iOS, Android, backend, machine learning, and etc). All of our projects are exposed to millions of users around the world with great scalability challenges.
 
For example, have you ever seen the option to record audio while traveling, or have you ever shared your trip with a friend?! These are some examples of what we develop locally and integrate globally.
 
This internship program is an opportunity to work on impactful projects in one of our Engineering teams and help us solve exceptional problems around the world.

What You'll Do
  •     Learn the vast inner workings of Uber - work with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, designers, data scientists, and data analysts
  •     Solve - develop innovative solutions for Uber, helping to write scalable and quality software
  •     Mentorship - you will have a mentor to support you and provide all the necessary guidance throughout the program.
  •     Personal development - opportunity to interact with other Uber interns around the region and the world.
 
Basic Qualifications
  •     Education: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program for the full duration of the internship in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related areas
  •     Graduation: Expected graduation date of June and July 2026
  •     English proficiency: Able to present ideas in a comprehensive, yet succinct manner
  •     Available to start on June, 2025 and work 30 hours a week (business hours) for 12 months - hybrid mode (mandatory to be Monday & Wednesday @the office in Sao Paulo city)
 
Preferred Qualifications
  •     Communication: Using interpersonal skills and situational awareness to clearly deliver information to a variety of audiences
  •     Skills: It will be a differential to have experience with software engineering through previous projects (personal or college), hackathons, programming marathons, coding challenges, scientific initiation and/or publications, knowledge of data structures, algorithms and associated programming languages and frameworks. (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python or Golang)
  •     Planning and Organization: Setting up and maintaining systems to appropriately structure and keep track of tasks and projects
  •     Problem Solving: Effectively resolving issues that involve people, things, and processes by using logic and common sense
  •     Stakeholder Management: Taking time to build meaningful relationships; earning the trust of others within the organization through strong situational awareness and reliability
  •     Teamwork: Demonstrates optimism, respects others, and works well in a team
