Travel

São Paulo is served by two major airports: GRU Airport (Guarulhos) and CGH Airport (Congonhas).

1. CGH Airport (Congonhas) - Domestic Travel Hub
If you're traveling domestically within Brazil, CGH Airport is your most convenient option. It is situated just 20 minutes away from the USP campus by taxi. CGH Airport primarily serves domestic flights, providing easy access to São Paulo from various cities within the country.

2. GRU Airport (Guarulhos) - São Paulo's International Gateway
Located approximately 1 hour by taxi from the University of São Paulo (USP), GRU Airport is the primary international airport for the city. This airport handles a wide range of domestic and international flights, making it the gateway for travelers arriving from abroad. The "Airport Bus Service" company provides a convenient bus service to the Avenida Paulista area, passing by major hotels, all for just R$43.90. This option is particularly beneficial for travelers staying in this region, which offers excellent public transportation choices, including the metro and buses that connect to the University of São Paulo (USP). For those arriving at Guarulhos Airport, there's an additional transport option. You can take a train for R$4.40 that connects to the Tatuapé, Brás, and Luz metro stations. The Luz station is part of the yellow metro line, offering access to Avenida Paulista and Butantã.

When it comes to bus travel, São Paulo offers two major bus terminals: Tietê and Barra Funda. Both terminals are strategically located to offer excellent public transportation links. They are integrated to the city's metro network, providing convenient access to downtown São Paulo and the USP campus.

Public Transportation

São Paulo boasts a good public transportation system, comprising both metro and bus lines. If you're planning to reach IFUSP from the Butantã Metro Station, we have convenient bus options for you:

1) Cidade Universitária - Circular 1 (Line 8012-10)
2) Cidade Universitária - Circular 2 (Line 8022-10)

Hop on either of these buses, and they will drop you right in front of IFUSP. Please note that the bus fare is R$4.40. These circular bus lines provide a quick and efficient connection from the Butantã Metro Station to IFUSP, allowing you to easily access our event.
