Multi-User Equipment

The SAXS (Small Angle X-ray Scattering) and WAXS (Wide Angle X-ray Scattering) multi-user equipments (MUE) of the Complex Fluids Group (GFCx) at the Physics Institute in São Paulo University (IFUSP) are available for researchers and institutions investigating structures at nanoscopic level (from 1 to 300 nm approx.).

Two Xenocs Xeuss equipments, versions 1.0  and 2.0, were sponsored by FAPESP (Foundation for Research Support of São Paulo State) and are managed by the GFCx under supervision of professor Dr. Antonio M. Figueiredo Neto and professor Dr. Cristiano L. P. Oliveira. Xeuss 1.0 has a GeniX X-ray source (copper target) and Xeuss 2.0 has three Genix 3D X-ray sources (copper, chromium and molibdenum targets). Both equipments have Dectris Pilatus 300k (SAXS) and 100k (WAXS) detectors. The equipments are located at the IFUSP main building.

To use these systems, it is necessary to register as a researcher and submit a small proposal to the GFCx/Crystallography comitee so the measurement conditions can be evaluated.
