"Blessings of a phantom: what remains from the 750 GeV diphoton resonance"

Abstract: "The announcement in December 2015 of a new resonance with mass around 750 GeV by both ATLAS and CMS has triggered an unprecedented amount of theoretical activity, which led to an avalanche of papers on the subject within a very short time. By August 2016 the resonance has disappeared; however, some important theoretical insights remain and will have a lasting impact. Three examples will be discussed in this talk."
