Abstract:

In this work, the first amplitude analysis of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed D+ → K−K+K+ nonleptonic three-body decay is presented. The analysis is based on an integrated luminosity of 2fb−1 of pp collisions data collected by the LHCb experiment at 8 TeV centre-ofmass energy. The main goal of this work is to study the K−K+ S-wave amplitude. The Dalitz plot analysis is performed using two approaches. In the first, the decay amplitude is parametrized using the Isobar Model. Different combinations of intermediate resonant states were studied, yielding an equally good description of the data. A phase variation of the S-wave, consistent with a resonance, is required to describe the data at both ends of K−K+ spectrum. Alternatively, the data was fit using a model based on Chiral Perturbation theory with Resonances, which the Lagrangian coupling constants are the free parameters of the decay amplitude. The most striking feature of this model is that the interference between the S- and P-wave is directly derived from the theory.
