Das: 10 - 11 horas: “Photonic Dirac Cones and Relevant Physics” We review the features of photonic Dirac cones, which are isotropic linear dispersion relation, on the gamma point of periodic metamaterials and photonic crystals. Our analysis is based on the k-p perturbation and group theory, so it is applicable not only to electromagnetic waves but also to any wave systems including electronic waves. We discuss the mode combinations that materialize the Dirac cones, the control of the propagation direction of the Dirac-cone modes by the polarization of the incident wave, and their superluminal propagation in photonic crystal slabs with diffraction loss. We extend our discussion to the electronic system to demonstrate the possibility of effective-mass engineer.
