Jornada no IEA apresenta a influência de pesquisadores franceses na USP
O Grupo de Pesquisa Brasil-França do IEA e o Institut des Amériques reunirão pesquisadores de diversas áreas para entender a influência francesa nos primeiros anos de formação da Universidade de São Paulo. A Jornada Franco-Brasileira acontece no IEA, no dia 27 de novembro, das 9h às 16h, terá duas mesas: medicina e biologia; e ciências humanas e sociais. Além do legado do período inicial, serão apresentadas também experiências posteriores e atuais. Para participar é necessária inscrição prévia. Haverá transmissão ao vivo pela web.
A conference at the IEA presents the influence of French researchers at USP
IEA's Brazil-France Research Group and the Institut des Amériques will bring together researchers from different areas to understand the influence in the main years of formation of the University of São Paulo. The French-Brazilian Conference will take place at the IEA, on November 27, from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, including sessions on medicine and biology, and human and social sciences. In addition to the legacy of USP's initial period, there will also be presented later and current results. There will be a live webcast of the event.

Miguel Bucalem fala sobre planejamento de longo prazo nas cidades brasileiras
No dia 30 de novembro, às 14h30, Miguel Bucalem, ex-secretário municipal de Desenvolvimento Urbano e professor da Escola Politécnica (Poli) da USP, será o convidado do Programa USP Cidades Globais para falar sobre os projetos e iniciativas de planejamento e desenvolvimento urbano em que ele esteve envolvido na Prefeitura Municipal de São Paulo. Um dos focos da apresentação, que acontece no IEA, será o planejamento estratégico de longo prazo das cidades. Enquanto secretário, Bucalem liderou a implantação do projeto SP 2040, plano de metas para a cidade de São Paulo até o ano de 2040. O evento terá transmissão ao vivo pela web e a participação presencial requer inscrição prévia.
Miguel Bucalem talks about long-term planning in Brazilian cities
Miguel Bucalem, former São Paulo Secretary of Urban Development and professor at USP's Polytechnic School (POLI), will be the guest of the USP's Global Cities Program to talk about urban planning, and development projects and initiatives in which he was involved in the City Hall. One of the focuses of the presentation, which takes place at the IEA on November 30, at 2.30 pm, will be the long-term strategic planning of cities. As secretary, Bucalem has led the implementation of the project SP 2040, a plan of goals for the city of São Paulo until the year 2040. The event will be broadcast live over the web.

Filósofo comentará a paisagem como elemento da política e das experiências humanas
O filósofo Dirk-Michael Hennrich, membro do Centro de Filosofia da Universidade de Lisboa, estará no IEA no dia 24 de novembro, às 9h, para falar da paisagem como elemento da política, das experiências humanas e não humanas. De acordo com os organizadores da conferência A Paisagem como Paradigma Político: Corpo e Paisagem na Época das Imagens Técnicas, desde o aparecimento do conceito de paisagem nas diversas línguas da cultura ocidental, existe uma relação indissociável entre paisagem e política, que na sua origem tratava antes de mais nada da questão do bom e do mau governo e de seus efeitos sobre a população urbana e paisana. Para acompanhar pessoalmente, não é necessária inscrição. Também será possível acompanhar a transmissão ao vivo pelo site do IEA.
Philosopher will comment the landscape as an element of politics and human experiences
Dirk-Michael Hennrich, a member of the Center for Philosophy at the University of Lisbon, will be at the IEA on November 24, from 9.00 am, to talk about landscape as an element of politics, human and non-human experiences. According to the organizers of the conference 'Landscape as a Political Paradigm: Body and Landscape in the Age of Technical Images,' there is an inseparable relationship between landscape and politics since the emergence of the concept of landscape in the various languages of Western culture, which in its origin related to the good and bad government, and its effects on the urban and civilian population. As primeiras exposições de arte concreta e neoconcreta no Brasil são tema de encontro no IEA
João Bandeira, poeta, pesquisador e músico, será o conferencista do 6° encontro sobre exposições culturais que marcaram a cena brasileira, organizado pela Cátedra Olavo Setubal de Arte, Cultura e Ciência. No dia 28 de novembro, às 14h30, ele comentará a 1ª Exposição Nacional de Arte Concreta, realizada no MAM-SP em 1956, e a 1ª Exposição Nacional de Arte Neoconcreta, que aconteceu em 1959 no MAM-RJ. Para assistir ao evento não é necessário fazer inscrição prévia. Também é possível acompanhar a transmissão ao vivo pela web.
The first exhibitions of concrete and neoconcret art in Brazil are the theme of a meeting at the IEA
Poet, researcher and musician João Bandeira will be the lecturer of the 6th meeting on cultural exhibitions that marked the Brazilian scene, organized by the Olavo Setubal Chair of Art, Culture and Science. On November 28, from 2.30 pm, he will comment on the 1st National Exhibition of Concrete Art, held at the MAM-SP in 1956, and on the 1st National Exhibition of Neoconcret Art, which took place in 1959 at the MAM-RJ. The meeting will have a live webcast.

Esalq realiza evento sobre economia circular em agronegócio e florestas
Para identificar oportunidades econômicas para negócios circulares nas diversas cadeias de valor do agronegócio, a Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (Esalq) da USP e o Grupo de Agricultura e Economia Circular, também da Esalq, com apoio do IEA, realizam o 1º Seminário de Economia Circular no AGRO. O encontro acontece no dia 24 de novembro, das 8h às 18h30, na Esalq, e é pago, com preços especiais para alunos de graduação. Haverá transmissão ao vivo gratuita pela web.
ESALQ holds event on circular economy in agribusiness and forests
In order to identify economic opportunities for business in the various agribusiness value chains, USP's Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ) and the Group of Agriculture and Circular Economy, with the support of the IEA, will hold the 1st Seminar of Circular Economy at AGRO. The meeting will take place on November 24, from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm, at ESALQ. There will be free live streaming on the web.

Documentário produzido pelo IEA e pela Faculdade de Medicina recebe prêmio em festival
O documentário ‘Dis’mobilidade Urbana, produzido pelo IEA e pela Faculdade de Medicina (FM) da USP, foi um dos premiados na 2ª edição do festival Mobifilm, evento que reúne e premia filmes sobre mobilidade e segurança no trânsito. No dia 20 de novembro, o festival exibiu 47 filmes, divididos em nove categorias. ‘Dis’mobilidade Urbana recebeu menção honrosa na categoria “Independentes longas”. O filme mostra as dificuldades de locomoção e transporte que envolvem a região do Hospital das Clínicas e como isso afeta seus pacientes, principalmente aqueles que têm mobilidade reduzida.
A documentary produced by the IEA and USP's School of Medicine has been awarded in a festival
The documentary 'Urban 'Dis'mobility,' produced by the IEA and USP's School of Medicine, was one of the winners in the 2nd edition of the Mobifilm festival, an event that gathers and rewards movies about mobility and traffic safety. On November 20, the festival screened 47 films divided into nine categories. 'Urban 'Dis'mobility' has received an honorable mention in the category 'Independent movies'. The film shows the difficulties of locomotion and transportation in the region of São Paulo's Clínicas Hospital and how they affect its patients, especially those with reduced mobility.
