Resumo: Spintronic - the use of the spin inestead of the electron charge as the basis of devices -  requires the control of the spin polarization in materials. In this talk, we discuss the theoretical understanding of the
spin polarization control from different perspectives including density functional calulations, effective models and machine learning.
