Tenure-Track Faculty Positions at the University of Sao Paulo - Institute of Physics: applications from Jan 5th to Feb 3rd.

The Institute of Physics of the University of Sao Paulo invites applications to a public competition for full time (40h) tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or Full Professor, in the research areas described below.

Candidates will be assigned to the position if nominated in a public competition. Though being initially non-tenured positions for three years, the position can become permanent afterwards, upon a positive evaluation.

Successful applicants will be expected to make a strong contribution to research, coordinate and teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise research students, and make a positive contribution to the reputation and the administration of the Institute of Physics. The positions will be based at the Sao Paulo Campus.

The Institute of Physics was officially created in 1970, but research started in the late 1940s. With approximately 100 advisors and 350 post-graduate students (2015 data), the IFUSP supports an extraordinary thematic diversity, which makes it stand out in the Brazilian academic scene. Nearly all fields of research in Physics are supported: Nuclear Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Optics, Biophysics, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Mathematical Physics, Plasma Physics, Dynamical Systems, Cosmology, Particles and Fields Physics, Statistical Mechanics, Applied Physics and Instrumentation, etc. IFUSP has an excellent infrastructure for the development of research work by professors and graduate students. Modern and well-equipped laboratories, up-to-date resources for data processing, and one of the best scientific libraries in Brazil, are some of the advantages offered to those who work at IFUSP.

New applications will be received through the link uspdigital.usp.br/gr/admissao, from January 5th to February 3rd, 2022. Please follow instructions from the document "Guide for Registration" available in the links below. Be advised: incomplete documentation will automatically eliminate the application.
