Development of a Chip-based Dual-comb Spectrometer in the Mid-IR Integrated to Microfluidic Systems
The application of dual-comb spectroscopy (DCS) in the mid-infrared provides access to molecular signatures present in this region. Recent advancements in integrated nonlinear photonics on chips have allowed the integration of photonic microdevices with dual-comb spectroscopy, enhancing the technique's compactness and versatility, with the goal of integrating complete experiments on chips. Here, we propose the development of an integrated nonlinear photonic and microfluidic microdevice on the same chip by combining electron beam lithography techniques with two-photon absorption laser writing (FA2F). Our aim is to significantly improve spectroscopic measurement sensitivity by increasing the interaction length between light and analyte through the interface between waveguides on the photonic chip and microfluidic channels. Potential applications of our optofluidic technology include nanoparticle synthesis for cancer treatment and diagnosis, as well as pharmacodynamic studies.
