Resumo:
Segue o resumo. "The BINGO Project (Baryon Acoustic Oscillations from Integrated Neutral Gas Observations) is a radiotelescope being designed to detect and measure the Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) imprinted in the Large Scale Structure (LSS) of the Universe. Since both the Dark Matter and Dark Energy influence on the evolution of the LSS, these are fruitful observations to measure the cosmological parameters as well. The detection will occur through the 21 cm signal, which is associated with a forbidden electronic transition of the neutral Hydrogen, and therefore is characterized by a very faint brightness. Due to the low source luminosity, a recently developed technique will be used, called Intensity Mapping, which aims to account for the total intensity coming from a region of the sky, instead of resolving to individual sources like galaxies. This allows us to probe a very large region of the sky very efficiently, mapping the LSS of the Universe through the abundance of neutral hydrogen emissions. In this presentation, I will give an introduction to the overall project, so that the other collaborators of the telescope from the department may present specific topics from their research on the future."
