Resumo:
Positronium (Ps) atoms have several applications in the study of materials, through the use of positron annihilation spectroscopy (PAS), and also possible applications in medicine. In this seminar, I present a numerical study of Ps solvation in different liquids. This study is based on a model for the interaction of Ps with liquids developed in our research group at IFUSP, according to our model the repulsive term is considered to be due to Pauli repulsion between the positronium electron and the electrons of the molecules. This term is determined by a force field proposed for the solvated electron in different media, chosen in order to reproduce experimental data as I will discuss in this talk.
