Barbara Lopes Amaral Associate Professor bamaral@if.usp.br Vertical Tabs OverviewBárbara's research focuses on the foundations of quantum theory—particularly contextuality, nonlocality, and their applications in quantum information and computation. She advises students at all levels and supervises postdoctoral researchers, with publications in high-impact journals and books. She participates actively in national and international scientific events, serves as referee for major journals, and sits on the editorial board of Physical Review X Quantum. Bárbara is also deeply engaged in science communication, contributing to media programs (TV Gazeta, Estado de São Paulo, Folha de São Paulo, Jornal da Globo, UOL, among others) and giving talks at outreach events such as Papo de Física and the ILP-FAPESP Science and Innovation Cycle.
