Resumo: The extraordinary technological advances in medical imaging, radiation therapy treatments and even those in machine and deep learning create new challenges for the clinical medical physicist, as she/he needs to be prepared to understand, be always up-to-date and implement such innovative technologies. Although access to information i has never been easier, the responsibility of successfully adopting new systems and technologies fall on the medical physicists, with duties ranging from developing new acceptance testing methods to training and education of physicians and technologists and ultimately, the design and optimization of clinical protocols. Medical physicists must embrace these changes, rather than allowing them to become unsurmountable challenges. This colloquium will provide a forum for discussions and conversations in these topics.
