Gustavo Alberto Burdman Professor Titular (Full Professor) gaburdman@usp.br Vertical Tabs OverviewHe holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Buenos Aires (1987) and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (1993). He is currently a Full Professor at the Physics Institute of the University of São Paulo. He has experience in Elementary Particle Physics and Fields, working mainly on the following topics: Standard Model of Particle Physics, Theories Beyond the Standard Model, Theories with Extra Dimensions, the origin of fermion masses; construction of theories beyond the Standard Model, phenomenology of theories beyond the Standard Model, at the LHC and other experiments. He has 56 articles published in high impact factor international journals, including 5 in Physical Review Letters. His articles have more than 7500 citations, according to Google Scholar (h=42), and more than 3300 citations according to Isis Web of Science (h=31). In 2008 he received the Guggenheim Fellowship Award. During 2009 he was a Ben Lee Fellow at Fermilab National Laboratory. In 2015 he was a member of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton. He is the coordinator of a FAPESP thematic project. Between 2016 and 2019 he was Head of the Department of Mathematical Physics, and from 2019 to 2023 he was Deputy Director of the Physics Institute at USP.
