The Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo (IFUSP), through Ordinance nº 04/2026, published the rules for the election of the Head and Deputy Head of the Department of Materials Physics and Mechanics.

Election Details

• First round: April 6, 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
• The winning ticket must achieve an absolute majority. Otherwise, there will be a second round:
  • Second round: Starts 15 minutes after the result announcement of the 1st round and ends at 4:00 pm on April 7, 2026.

Candidate Registration

Candidates must form tickets composed of Head and Deputy Head, respecting the deadlines:

• Main period: March 4 to 13, 2026.
• Supplementary period: March 17 to 26, 2026 (if needed).

Registration can be done at the Department's Secretariat or via email at secfmt@if.usp.br, by submitting an application signed by both candidates. The list of approved tickets will be announced on:

• March 16, 2026, at 2:00 pm (main period);
• March 27, 2026, at 2:00 pm (supplementary period).

Electoral College and Voting

All members of the Department's Council are eligible to vote. Voters unable to participate must notify the Secretariat by April 1, 2026. The voting will be carried out electronically:

• Voting link sent: April 2, 2026, via institutional email.
• Voting: confidential and personal.
