Currently, she is a Full Professor (MS-6) at the Institute of Physics at the University of São Paulo (IF-USP). She holds a degree in Physics Education from the University of São Paulo (1982), a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1982), a Master's degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1985), a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1989), a sandwich Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute in Stuttgart, Germany, a postdoctoral fellowship at the IBM Research Division in Zurich, Switzerland (1996), and a Habilitation from the University of São Paulo (2000). She has experience in the field of Physics, with an emphasis on Condensed Matter Physics, mainly working on the following topics: electronic structure, electric and magnetic hyperfine properties, transition metals and alloys, magnetism in nanostructured systems, materials for energy, and biomolecular systems. She was the head of the Department of Materials Physics and Mechanics (DFMT) at IF-USP from April 2020 to April 2024.
