
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1978), a Master's degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1982), and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1985). He was a visiting professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1994-1996). Currently, he is an Associate Professor MS-5 (level 3) at the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo. He has experience in the field of Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, focusing primarily on the following topics: electronic structure, electric and magnetic hyperfine properties, semiconductor materials, molecular clusters, spintronics, two-dimensional nanostructured materials, high-pressure materials, and hybrid improper ferroelectric materials.
