He holds a Bachelor's and a Teaching Degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1983), a Master's in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1986), a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1991), and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Laboratoire Louis Néel-CNRS in Grenoble, France (1991 to 1993). Currently, he is an associate professor at the University of São Paulo. He has experience in the field of Physics, with an emphasis on Magnetic Materials and Magnetic and Magneto-optical Properties of materials, focusing mainly on the following topics: magnetism; thin films, multilayers, and nanoparticles; soft magnetic materials and high anisotropy; near-field magneto-optics and surface plasmons.
