Prof. Dr. Roberto Hiroki Miwa
We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Professor Roberto Hiroki Miwa to the Department of Materials Physics and Mechanics as a Visiting Professor. He will contribute his extensive experience and knowledge from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
Professor Miwa has a solid academic background, with a PhD in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1997) and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom (1999-2000). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Uberlândia.
His expertise in Condensed Matter Physics, particularly in Computational Modeling of solids, surfaces, nanostructures, and molecular arrangements using first principles methods, will enhance our research and teaching activities.
We look forward to learning from his contributions and enjoying a promising and productive year. The department's academic community warmly welcomes him with enthusiasm and anticipation of new and fruitful collaborations.
